Huskers set to host another from Fresno

If you haven't heard of Andre Jones the defensive back from Fresno (Calif.) City College then you might have been living under a rock. His partner in crime though is a 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds with a 4.5/40 linebacker who is wreaking havoc on opposing offenses. The Huskers are set to host them both in the coming weeks.

Andre Jones is well worth the hype, but the player that could be coming into his own from Fresno (Calif.) City College is Steve Allen. Allen is an excellent player with a good frame, 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, and 4.5/40 speed.

"I try," Allen said. "We have a good defense and have been having a good year so far."

Right now Allen is set to take one official visit. He is taking a trip with Andre Jones to see Nebraska on October 8. "Yes sir. I got an offer from Nebraska about three to four weeks. Coach Blake and Coach Wagner are recruiting me from Nebraska."

"I'm looking forward to going down there and having a good time with the players that are coming back (next season). I want to get to know the coaches a little bit better and get to see what the depth chart is all about. See where I stand if I do make that commitment."

Allen is a relative unknown to the recruiting world, but things will pick up. He only has the offers from Nebraska and Central Florida right now, but there is another that looks promising. "I am waiting for Michigan State and there are a couple of other schools that I am talking to, but they haven't offered yet."

As of right now there is one team that is standing out to Allen, and Jones for that matter, for their services in division one football. "Yes, right now I would consider Nebraska to be my leader."

Out of Delray Beach (Flor.) Atlantic High School, Allen committed and signed with Iowa State. Out of high school he had over 50 tackles, seven sacks and two interceptions through just seven games.

As of right now Allen is working on getting his associate degree in December. His coaches and guidance counselors have been looking at ways for him to earn the necessary credits to transfer at semester. "That is looking pretty good right now."

Although Nebraska is a leader right now at the moment and has the only scheduled visit set with Allen he is looking at setting some other trips. "I would like to visit Michigan State and maybe some SEC schools. I am trying to get some of them to look at me."
