I've seen a lot of film so far this year and I have to say that Josh Mueller is one of the best I've seen. Last time I checked my count was at 437 prospects watched and I have about 200 more waiting to be viewed.
Of all the prospects I've seen, Mueller is in the top 20 regardless of position. Mueller is committed to Nebraska and it's easy to see why the Husker coaching staff made the early scholarship offer.
Mueller is 6-foot-7 and weighs 245-pounds. He lines up at tailback for Lakeview and I have to say he does a great job. He's extremely athletic and quick for his size. Josh has excellent hands, balance and he's a terrific blocker. His field vision and ability to make people miss is uncanny.
Even though I was impressed with Mueller as a tailback, I liked him even more as a defensive end. He's extremely quick off the ball and doesn't stay blocked. Josh chases the back-side very well and he made several plays behind the line of scrimmage.
Mueller's future in Lincoln may be as a tight end but I wouldn't be one bit surprised if he ended up as a defensive end and he would be a great offensive tackle.
If Josh Mueller stays healthy he will contribute very early in his college career. I feel he's a definite four-star prospect who should be ranked in everyone's "Top 100" list.
