"Yeah, I will be down there this weekend," Johnson said. "I don't have a Nebraska offer yet, but I think that I might get one if I come there. Coach Blake has been talking to me about. I really think that he has offered me, but hasn't come out and said that. He really wants me to come there."
Johnson is in his first year at Compton (Calif.) C.C. after making a transfer from a NAIA school in Iowa. How has the season been going for him?
"It's going good; I am having a good season so far. I am leading the team in sacks. I just found that out today. I have seven sacks through five games. I am playing all over the line. I play end, tackle and nose guard."
When it comes to seeing Nebraska he kind of knows what to expect when it comes to terrain and surroundings. What is he actually looking forward to when it comes to seeing Lincoln and the game though?
"I am looking forward to the experience. I mean that whole experience of going out there to Nebraska and seeing the program, the game, and the coaches. I want to see how the program is ran."
Johnson has big expectations, but he isn't set on coming in and starting. He wants to be part of the bigger picture when it comes to building a team above individual achievement. "Well whatever I have to do to help the team. If I get out there and I am second team, then I will do whatever I have to do to help the team."
Johnson came out of Chicago (Ill.) Graceland and played a year in Iowa at a NAIA school. He will be eligible to transfer back to a four year school in December. "I played Division II NAIA. I will play two to play two at the end of December."
