Bruce Campbell Updates His Status With NU

With Nebraska in dire need of depth at the offensive line position, a prospect like Bruce Campbell looks better and better as the weeks go by and he continues to improve. A month after officially visiting the campus in Lincoln, we were able to talk to Bruce fresh off of a game and find out where he stands in terms of other official visits, his play in tonight's game and Nebraska's relationship with him in general.

When it comes down to Bruce Campbell, rankings almost don't matter. You've got an athletic specimen at 6'6", 270-pounds who can run a 4.75 40 yard dash. Still, those who rank prospects were obviously impressed with what they saw as shown with Campbell's four-star review. Campbell reports no new offers since he visited the land of the Big Red and estimates his total offers at around 20.

We were able to catch Campbell fresh off a game tonight in which his team rolled to a 49-0 win. "I did alright and overall, I felt we did okay. We didn't play our best but we did good enough to get a win," he said. With a 49-0 victory, perhaps Campbell, himself, is his harshest critic.

When approached about the subject of when he's looking to commit, he commented, "It's probably going to be after the season and after I take the rest of my visits," he said. Speaking of official visits, he has none cemented but mentioned he would like to visit the campuses of Maryland, Virginia and Michigan State at this time.

He claims no official leader but mentions that Nebraska has not fallen out of favor with him at all as he and the Nebraska staff, specifically Coach John Blake, keep in close contact with him. "I talk to them even more now than before I actually visited. I talk to them almost every day anymore," said Campbell.

When asked about the impact that the trip to Nebraska had on him and if the experience had worn off a bit, Bruce said, "It's still with me and I still remember it all." Campbell went on to say that he had a quality experience when in Lincoln and it appears that if things continue the way they have, Nebraska should have as good a shot as anyone to land the mammoth man from Connecticut.
