Coaches from around the state can join the Husker men's basketball program for the Nebraska Basketball Coaches Clinic this weekend at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The free clinic will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
assistant coach Jerome Francis Jr. will start the clinic at 8:30 a.m. with a 30-minute presentation on post play. Francis is in his first year on the bench with the Huskers after spending the past three seasons as head coach at Prairie View A&M. He previously served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Ohio State
, as well as an assistant at Houston
, Ball State
and Butler, where he was on Coach Barry Collier's staff in 1993-94.
Coach Collier takes over the presentation at 9 a.m., and will speak about the program at Nebraska as well as lecture points on position play. Following lunch at 11 a.m., the Huskers will practice from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Coaches attending the clinic are encouraged to attend the practice.
Coaches can register the morning of the clinic beginning at 8 a.m. at the Devaney Center. The only charge will be for those who want to have lunch at the event.
