Jerry Brown is set for first official

The commitment to Illinois by Jerry Brown took many by surprise. Then in another shocking move things were opened up a bit again and he announced that he would be taking official visits and called the commitment to Illinois soft. This weekend is the first of his five scheduled official visits.

Jerry Brown and his team, St. Louis (Mo.) Vashon, are soaring. The 6-foot-5 and 260 pound defensive end said that they are one a long winning streak and are well into district play.

"We are doing really good right now," Brown said. "We are on a five game winning streak. We are into our district play."

Following the game Friday night is a car ride to Lincoln, Nebr. Brown will be taking in the game in Lincoln this weekend for his first scheduled official visit.

"I am going to Nebraska this weekend. I have been there before for junior day and I am interested in seeing some things that I didn't see when I was up there before."

"I want to talk to the people in my major and about academics. I want to see how things are run, get to talk to the players and the coaches too. I also want to see the atmosphere on gameday. I am either planning on majoring in graphic design or something in business."

Brown is looking to take all five official visits before either solidifying or changing his commitment. "This is my first official visit. I will take other official visits to Oklahoma, Missouri, Michigan State and Illinois."
