Huskers expecting big visitor next weekend?

One of the hidden gems this year in the junior college ranks could be Shannon Boatman. Boatman has the size that division one coaches look for and comes from a balanced offense at Tyler (Texas) Junior College. Boatman is already sitting on a good amount of offers, but a visit to Nebraska to get an offer may get the first looks.

Shannon Boatman has been a relative unknown to the college football recruiting world for a while. However, things are picking up for the standout from Tyler (Texas) Junior College. The 6-foot-7 and 310 pound tackle said that the season is basically over for him and his team.

"We lost this week," Boatman said. "We are out of it and just playing for pride. We have one game left and that is this weekend."

After his last game Boatman will start taking a look at getting in his official visits. Nebraska is one team that has been hot on his trail for the last month or so.

"The coaches from Nebraska are supposed to be calling me tonight to set that up. If I am going it will be next weekend for the Kansas State game."

Besides taking a look at Nebraska, Boatman will have to evaluate the other schools recruiting him for his last visits. Iowa State, UTEP, South Carolina, Kansas, Texas State, and Houston are all schools that have stepped up to offer the big offensive tackle.

When Boatman takes his officials he is looking for some key things. "I am looking at the environment and just looking at getting the chance to play. I am not coming in to sit behind a bunch of seniors. I really want the chance to come in and get a chance to play. I want to show what I got. I am also looking for a program to work with me and my strength."
