Another possible visitor for this weekend?

The search for offensive linemen is on-going for Nebraska, but one that they have been in on for a very long time is Cruz Barrett. Barrett is getting ready to play in the first round of the playoffs tonight, but following that game on Saturday morning he might be boarding a plane to take his first official visit.

One of the most popular offensive lineman in the nation is 6-foot-4 and 315 pound Cruz Barrett from Daytona Beach (Flor.) Mainland). Barrett is looking forward to a challenge Friday night in their first round playoff game.

"Yeah, we play Palm Bay tonight," Barrett said. "They're good. It's going to be a good game. Everybody just needs to step up and have a good game. I need to step up. It's at their place Friday night."

Recruiting is going good for Barrett. He is currently rated as a three-star rated lineman by However, he isn't up to the point of having taken any official visits yet, but that could be coming to a close very soon.

"I haven't taken any yet. I am not sure if I do or not. I am still not sure if I am going to Nebraska or not. I am supposed to be going this weekend. My coach is supposed to call me and tell me that the visit is set up. He is supposed to be talking with Coach Jordan right now."

Nebraska is in a position this year that must be appealing to offensive lineman and Barrett has heard about it from his recruiting coach from Nebraska. "Coach Jordan told me that they need offensive lineman. They didn't tell me that I can come in and start or anything, but they said that I can come in and help. I can come in and learn a lot as a freshman."

When it comes to picking out a school distance is something that Barrett admits is a pretty big deal. He also admits that that opportunity can not be overlooked and that is why he is still looking at some out of state schools. "Yeah, it's a big deal. But, I have to take the chance and look around at out of state schools."

Barrett is looking at four other schools to go along with a possible official visit to Nebraska this weekend. However, there isn't a team in the five that is standing out in front of the other right now. "West Virginia, Florida, Florida State and probably South Carolina. There isn't a team that is really standing out right now."

When it comes to picking out a school, Barrett is looking at three important things. He is also planning on looking at the department of what he might want to major in. "I am looking to feel at home, get my education and of course play football. I am planning on majoring in computer engineering. Who knows, it might change."
