Huskers bring in special unofficial guest

Those visitors that were in Lincoln, Nebr. this weekend were able to catch a fantastic comeback win and see Nebraska win a game to make them bowl eligible. One of the many visitors that was in town this weekend is a little-known speedster from St. Louis who is holding an offer from Nebraska.

Paul Chaney from St. Louis (Mo.) University High School is a burner on the football field. The 5-foot-8 and 160 pound defensive back was supposed to visit Lincoln this weekend. Was he there?

"Yeah I did," Chaney said. "It was an unofficial."

Chaney is holding onto offers from a lot of schools for either track, football or both. Does he have an offer from Nebraska and which sport is it for?

"Yeah I do. It's for football. They are recruiting me as a defensive back."

Chaney was just in town for an unofficial visit, however it didn't take away from what he was able to do and see. A few things popped out the most to Chaney.

"It was a good trip. I saw a lot. I really enjoyed it. It was my first time to Lincoln. It's a good college town. They really support their team there."

"The facilities, the people, the fans and the game stood out. The tunnel walk alone was worth the trip itself. That was just outrageous."

Chaney still has to set up some official visits so is there a chance the he will take one of them and go back and visit Nebraska officially? "Yeah, I think that I am going to get back down there for an official visit. I have no idea when it will be though."

Chaney knows what he is looking for when it comes to picking out a school. "Where I fit in, how comfortable I am with the staff of coaches and the athletes. I am also looking to run track. Nebraska said that I could."

Chaney is a stand out in track in three events. His best 100m time last year was blazing fast. "I will be running the 100m, 200m, and 400m this year. My fastest 100m last year was 10.5-flat."
