Huskers pick up big one

Nebraska was able to pull three Grizzlies into Lincoln, Nebr. last year. Zach Taylor, Frantz Hardy and Justin Tomerlin all hail from Butler and it looks like they will be getting a former teammate to come and join them next fall, again.

Nebraska is getting immediate help again this year from the junior college ranks. Kenny Wilson or Butler (Kan.) C.C. is the latest Nebraska commit. The 6-foot, 215 pound tailback hasn't returned from his trip to Nebraska, but Big Red Report caught up with his running back coach to confirm the commitment.

"I just got a call from one of our coaches and he said that same thing," Coach Flores said. "I haven't heard. I did not hear it from Kenny or any of the coaches up at Nebraska that he committed."

The thing that keeps being said about Kenny is that beyond being a great player, he is a great person and makes the people around him much better because of the attitude and intensity that he plays with.

"He's an amazing player and an amazing person. He has a great work ethic. When he is healthy and he's at practice the tempo of our practice is so much better for us."

Many has said that Wilson will most likely be a fullback at the next level, but then you remember that he has 10.1-second 100m speed. "Oh yeah, he's a tailback. He's not a fullback. He has great speed, great strength. He has really good vision. He has good hands. He can do everything."

Coach Flores reiterated that Wilson would not be eligible to transfer in the spring. He would not be eligible to get to Lincoln until the summer, earliest. "He will enroll there next fall. He still has to graduate. He didn't qualify out of high school."
