Cooper still considering Huskers

It doesn't seem possible for high school football to extend all the way in to December, but it more than likely will for Graig Cooper this year. Cooper and his team have 13 games under their belt and can play two a maximum of two more games making it almost impossible to get an official visit in until December.

Ask Graig Cooper about when he will be taking his official visits and he will tell you starting in December. He isn't complaining because the season is keeping the 5-foot-10 and 185 pound running back from Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose High School from going anywhere on the weekend.

"Yeah we are still going," Cooper said. "We're 12-1 right now. We have the semi-finals this weekend and hopefully be in the finals next week. If we win this game then we are going to the finals."

Cooper is having a brilliant year and while he wasn't sure how many yards he had rushed for his touchdown total is staggering and probably is leading the state in scoring. "I have 28 touchdowns so far this year. I am not sure how many yards. I think that I am leading the state in scoring. I haven't checked it lately though."

The season has kept Graig from making any official visits yet, but that will end soon. Starting in the second weekend in December he will take back to back weekends of official visits. Then after the New Year he will take two more.

"No, I am starting those next month. I am going to Miami, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and Tennessee for now. On December 9 I am going to Ole Miss, December 16 to Miami and then that's it until the end of the year. I will go to Oklahoma State and then Tennessee. Then I will try and get a fifth visit in after that week."

The fifth and final official visit for Cooper is a bit up in the air. He hasn't given it a lot of thought to be honest, but one team has asked him about it and would like to get it.

"I am not sure who I am all considering for that last spot. Nebraska told me that they want to set one up. They asked about it. They are a team that I am considering for my last official."
