Huskers out of it for Mullins?

A big need position still for the Nebraska recruiting class is defensive tackle. Nebraska will graduate their top two defensive tackles this year and it will be the same story after next year. It is necessary for Nebraska to bring in a mix of junior college and high school talent this year. One of those players that Nebraska has their eye on is Aleric Mullins.

Aleric Mullins season came to a sudden end this past weekend. The 6-foot-2 and 300 pound Mullins from Wendell (N.C.) East Lake High School. Mullins had a great year from his tackle position.

"I finished the season with 95 tackles, 20 for loss, nine sacks and four forced fumbles," Mullins said. "We played 12 games so I almost averaged 8 tackles per game."

Following his last prep game, Mullins then took in his first official visit. "I went to Oklahoma this past weekend. I liked it, liked it a lot. I am originally from Missouri so I know about that area. I liked the players there and Coach Stoops was real cool."

Mullins did not commit and is off on his second and third visits over the next two weeks. After the next two officials though the other two visit slots are up in the air, but he has some teams that he is considering for those last slots.

"I go to USC this weekend and Tennessee the weekend after. After those two I really don't know. I am considering Auburn, Florida, North Carolina and Missouri still for the other officials."

One team that Mullins went back and mentioned was Nebraska. Nebraska is still getting consideration, but it was obvious that Nebraska needs to step it up a bit to get one of the last five visits.

"I am still considering Nebraska, but I just haven't had a chance to talk to their coaches face to face. I would still consider them for an official visit."
