Kenni Burns, a 6-foot, 190-pound, running back from Springfield (Ill) Sacred Heart-Griffin received his first scholarship offer. Even though Burns was hobbled most of his junior season with a foot injury, Missouri thought enough of his abilities to offer a scholarship.
Burns is the best running back prospect in the Land of Lincoln and he's one of the top prospects in the Midwest.
"Missouri offered me a scholarship yesterday." Burns said. "I think Iowa is close to offering as well. My favorites are Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Oregon. Notre Dame has dropped from top five because I haven't heard from them in a while."
Burns will be a three-year starter in 2002. He rushed for 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore. Kenni was hurt most of his junior year but managed seven touchdowns.
