Application Process for Tickets Almost Over

The Nebraska Athletic Department has determined a timeline to determine which Husker fans will receive new season tickets in Memorial Stadium for the 2006 season. The announcement comes after the application process for new season tickets drew to a close at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Athletic Director Steve Pederson said the Nebraska athletic ticket office received requests for 14,970 new season tickets in the North Stadium, well above the approximately 6,500 new seats available for the 2006 season. Fans were required to provide a $100 deposit for each season ticket they requested.

With the application process closed, Pederson said it is important to move quickly to determine which Husker fans will receive new season tickets, a process that will begin immediately. The athletic department has also determined the following two dates…

March 1—Fans who have received season tickets will be notified and invoiced
April 1—Payments for new season tickets and contributions will be due

As announced in December, at least 1,000 of the tickets will be held for Nebraska fans not in a position to make a donation to the athletic department, and another allotment of tickets will be held for former Husker letterwinners. Pederson also said those fans who do not receive new season tickets will be contacted and placed on a new season ticket waiting list if they so choose.

Pederson and Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing John Anderson shared a few other interesting numbers from the season ticket application process, including…

  • Approximately 88 percent of the requests for new season tickets were made on-line at
  • Approximately 7,500 deposits for new tickets were received in the first 48 hours of the application process from Dec. 13 to Dec. 15
  • 671 requests for season tickets were received from former Nebraska letterwinners across all sports
