Are you ready for Signing Day?

If You didn't know "Signing Day" is today, welcome to Earth, it's nice to see you. Now that you do know, it's time to catch you up on just what we'll be doing today, so that you stay as informed as you can about who's "N", who we are waiting on and if there are any surprises. This has been an interesting year, so we don't rule anything out. But the only way you can stay on top of the action is check in, check it out and enjoy Signing Day 2006. Here's what's on the slate for Wednesday.

It's become a tradition five years long, people gathering seemingly in herds in chat rooms across the network, waiting for that up-to-the-minute update on who the latest commit to officially become a Cornhusker.

It's not for the faint of heart as schools like to have these kids signed as early as they can, because everyone has a press conference early in the afternoon and for Nebraska , it's at 2:00 p.m. central time.

So, if you want to take in the morning chat, the action starts at 6:00 a.m. central time and trust me, you'll have plenty of company if you are one of those salty types that can get up and make it in at that time.

If you don't, no big deal as we will post the up-to-the-minute signings in the chat room first, but it will only be a few minutes when we'll throw it on the RED ZONE and after that, the database will be officially updated to reflect who's in and who is left of the 23 commits Nebraska has.

As signing day commences, we will have updates throughout the day on the front page as to some of the reactions from the official future Cornhuskers, seeing what they feel about knowing that it's only a matter of months and they will be wearing the scarlet and cream.

Also, if you can't get the free streaming audio from for the afternoon press conference, fear not, because we will have sound bytes up later in the day from the entire press conference.

Ok, so you made it to around noon and this is where the fun begins, because this is where we get to go all over and talk about just what this recruiting class means, who will shine, who won't and how this class compares to those in the past. There will be that and a whole lot more as we make our appearances on both radio and TV, making sure to keep everyone up-to-date on just what happened during signing day 2006. Here's the following schedule and coverage areas where it applies:

Big Sports 590 AM – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Coverage Map

Average Joe Sports Show – 1480 AM – 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Lincoln area

KLKN TV  – 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (live with Jon Wofford) – Check local listings for channel in your area

KPTM TV  - 9:50 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Live with J.J. Davis) – Check local listings for channel in your area

If that isn't enough, don't worry, because we have even more. During the break between the TV recruiting specials, Bryan Munson and myself will put together our own audioblog, running all the players down, hashing out just who will do what and what we think this class means for the near and distant future of the Huskers. That will be accessible before the KPTM TV appearance.

You want more?

Don't miss out on the Red Zone, where all the diehard Husker fans will be, eyes peeled for any potential changes, surprises both good and bad. Signing Day is anything but ordinary nowadays. You never know what's going to happen.

There's a reason people say that it's not a done deal until that Letter of Intent is signed. Well, stay with us all day and you will read, hear and see everything you need to know, to get to know this class possibly better than you have up to this point.

Oh, and don't forget to pick up the Big Red Report Recruiting Yearbook, where we give you the coffee table keepsake that gives you all the good stuff about all the commits, interesting facts about them you might not have known and we'll even touch on the class of 2007.

It's never too early to start recruiting all over again.

And it's almost that time, but not quite yet as there is one big day to go. So just make sure you are ready, know where you have to be and you will stay ahead of the curve on a day that is hectic to say the least.

Join in the fun and if you aren't already a member, check out the free 7-day trial and see what you've been missing. Signing Day is always a day to remember.
