Husker offer little too late?

One of the best in Mississippi is off the market, or is he? Jazzmen Guy from Hazlehurst (Ms.) pulled the trigger on a commitment a few weeks ago. A commitment that could be considered soft if he decides to go through with taking a look around. He has his eyes on a couple of other schools to potentially visit.

How do you improve on perfection? Well, Jazzmen Guy isn't going to stop working hard. While he isn't in track right now he is hitting the weights hard to improve on his 6-foot-5 and 250 pound frame. The standout from Hazlehurst (Ms.) led his team to the state championship last year.

"I am just working out right now," Guy said. "I am not running track or anything. We won state last year in 3A. The largest is 5A in Mississippi. I had 127 tackles, 17 sacks, and two fumble recoveries."

Guy pulled the trigger on an early commitment and appears to be staying close to home. "I made the commitment to Mississippi State about three weeks ago. I wasn't on a visit there or anything, but I have been there before."

While the commitment might be firm now, there is a chance that a couple of schools could come in and earn a visit from Guy later in the process. "I might take a couple of looks around. I would be interested in going and seeing Florida State and Miami. Other than those two I won't take a look at anyone else."

If Guy does take a look around he will be looking at academics first. While his choice now is a school closer to home it won't matter if he decides to stay close or leave home for school. "I am looking at academics first because I am looking to go into computer technology. Distance doesn't matter with me when it comes to my decision."

Guy made the decision very early in the process over a pretty impressive list of offers from some of the best schools in the toughest conferences. "I have offers from Nebraska, Southern Miss, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, Florida, Miami and South Carolina. Nebraska offered me two to three weeks ago."
