Keck had great experience in Lincoln

Michael Keck looks the part of a college defensive end. Keck looks "light" at 220 pounds and all that really means is that he has the frame to hold more weight. If his speed is in the 4.5 range like it is said to be, then this kid would be a weapon coming off of the edge rushing the passer. What did Keck think about Lincoln this past weekend?

Michael Keck is a big boy. At around 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds he also has a 4.5/40. The defensive end from Harrisonville (Mo.) took a trip this past weekend to come see Nebraska in their spring game. What did Michael think of the trip?

"It was just a great experience," Keck said. "It really wasn't like anything I had experienced yet. It was pretty sweet."

"That was the first spring game that I had a chance to see. I chose to go to Nebraska this weekend over another game. I had been to a couple of spring practices already. I went to Missouri and Kansas. I am going to Kansas State this weekend."

Keck really liked the atmosphere of the game, but he also had a lot to say about other things in Lincoln. He was pretty surprised by the success that Nebraska has had with academic All-Americans. He also liked the facilities and the coaches.

"Their academics are just awesome. They have 200-some academic All-Americans. Their facilities were amazing. I really liked the coaches. I got meet all of the coaches, but I didn't really get a chance to talk to all of them. Coach Cosgrove is just a great guy."

The visit didn't rate a "10", but it wasn't because it wasn't a great experience. The night before Michael had some time to check out the sold out baseball game with Texas A&M. There he got to hear about what to expect tomorrow so the cat was out of the bag, so to speak.

"It was probably about a "9". It was more than what I expected. When I got up there the night before I was told at the baseball game about the crowd. Before that conversation I had no idea that it would be like that. I kind of knew about it already."

This is really the last weekend for spring games and Keck will be off again this weekend to see another one and compare. Beyond this upcoming trip though he isn't sure where else he is headed this summer. "I am off to Kansas State this weekend. After that, I am just going to kind of go with the flow. I will travel as I need to and when it comes up."

While he isn't sure where else he will be, there is one thing that Michael will be and that is busy. He just received his ninth offer and one would have to think that given his size and speed combination as well his productivity on the field that nine offers is just the tip of the iceberg. "I got another offers. It was from Alabama. I am up to nine offers."
