"I am running the 100m, the 400m relay, 800m relay and the 1600m relay," Creer said. "We've had six meets or so, so far. My best 100m time to this point has been 10.8."
Last season, Tatum was the 3A state champions. Creer had a great season and pulled in top honors in his district and in the state at his position. After seeing his stats there is no doubt as to why.
"We won state in 3A. I won the offensive MVP of the district and first team all-state. I had 2,150 yards and 18 touchdowns. I had about 15 catches, but I don't know how many yards. There weren't any touchdowns receiving."
At 6-foot-0 and 201 pounds, Creer still has 4.45 speed. While he says that he is a guy that likes to set up defenders, make a move and run away from them he says that he also has the power to run people over. "My vision and I have speed too. I like making guys miss, but I can run you over too."
The early word is that Creer is a sure-bet to be a Longhorn. He admits, that the process has some close to coming to an end. He has a firm leader, but really followed two teams growing up. "Yes sir. I would have to say that my leader is Texas, but I had two favorites as I was growing up; Texas and Oklahoma."
Creer has taken in a Junior Day in Austin already. The visit was all that he expected it to be. However, he left Austin without committing. He is thinking about taking a trip to Norman, but isn't sure when he can make that trip.
"I went to the junior day at Texas. It was great. I liked it a lot. All of the coaches and the players were real friendly. It was a real family atmosphere. I might go to Oklahoma. I don't know when I can make that trip."
There are a few things that Creer is looking at when it comes to picking out a school. It may start in the classroom, but it finishes on the field. "The academic program. I'd like to get a good education. Also the depth chart. I am kind of looking at the depth chart. I am also looking at the atmosphere around me. Distance isn't a big thing."
Nebraska has offered Creer, but there is a lot for Nebraska to overcome. More than the distance, there is the strong ties that he feels towards going to Texas or to Oklahoma. So has Nebraska been ruled of the picture entirely by Creer?
"No, not at all. I like them. They're good. I talk to the coaches up there and they tell me that they are interested in me and I think that I might take a visit up there too. I talk to Coach Jordan and Coach Callahan up there. I might go up there some time this summer."
