Love holding Nebraska offer

Nebraska definitely has a renewed emphasis in recruiting Texas this year. It seems like everyday you look there is another offer to a Texas player. The latest will be one of the top linebackers in the state. With 4.46 speed, he can run like a defensive back, but hits like a truck. He definitely gives defenses an edge with him on your side.

Garland (Texas) Garland North is well-known when it comes to turning out division one talent. Nebraska has offered a second player from there, the first being Hubert Anyiam, and now Jermaine Love has an offer.

Love is a shade under 6-foot-0 and 210 pounds. As a junior, he tallied 135 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, nine sacks, 13 quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles. So far into the evaluation period Love has been busy.

"It's going good," Love said. "Oklahoma was just here and they really liked me a lot. Texas, Texas Tech, LSU came the other day, Nebraska was here, and some others."

Love is about up to double-digit offers with offers coming nearly every day. "I have offers from Iowa State, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, LSU is going to offer me, and TCU."

Love is a playmaker at linebacker, but has the speed to play safety. He says that all of the teams recruiting him like him playing closer to the line of scrimmage and wreaking havoc on opposing teams' offenses.

"Everyone is recruiting me to play linebacker. My biggest strength is probably my speed and getting to the tackle. I have 4.46 speed."

"I like going on blitzes. I like hitting. I also like getting up and stuffing the run. I can drop back into coverage as well."

Many of the junior days have come and gone, but Love has kept busy working out. He isn't sure if he will get to any camps or combines. He will be practicing with his team all summer and will continue to work out.

"I haven't been to any camps or combines. I didn't go to any junior days either. I am just going be working out this summer and looking for some camps to go to."

Love knows that he is going to college for more than just playing football. He knows that things might not work out to play professionally, but if that happens to Love he says that he will have gotten his degree.

"I am going to look for academic support, be cause when I go to college I want to do really well just in case I don't make it in football. Distance isn't an issue. I don't care about that."

Love has a list of favorites comprised of teams that have offered and some that haven't. Nebraska is on the list and one of the reasons that they are is because of their coaching staff.

"My favorites are Miami, then Oklahoma, Florida State, LSU, Texas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Iowa State and Nebraska."

"I know that they have a good coaching staff. The coaching staff that they have is new, but they have been around. They are also bringing that team around and that is what I really like about that staff."
