Commitment #7 is in for Nebraska

This past week Nebraska hosted a very important visitor. A visitor that was getting close to making a decision. That decision came tonight after careful deliberation. It came down to how his style matched that at Nebraska. It also came down to academics, a part as important to Nebraska as on the field performance.

This past week Nebraska hosted Anthony Blue from Cedar Hill (Texas). Tonight, Nebraska got a phone call from Blue following up that visit with some pretty big news.

"Yes sir, I committed," Blue said. "I just got done talking to Coach Ted Gilmore."

The first thing that Blue could talk about were the academics at Nebraska. "After I visited Nebraska I came away impressed. It was their academics. It was the academic support and the number of academic All-Americans."

However, Blue could not overlook the match in his ability to what Nebraska is looking for in their cornerbacks. "Their defensive back coach said that they are looking for physical guys and I think that I fit that description. That is what they tell me too."

Blue will come up and stick you in run-support. He is not afraid to hit. But, you see him at his best in lock-down, man to man coverage. "If you watch my highlight film you will see me come up and hit someone in supporting the run. I am at my best though in man to man."

Blue was named second team all-district as a junior at Cedar Hill. He is the seventh known verbal commitment to Nebraska for the class of 2007.
