Sandman II?

Very few players at the collegiate level get nicknames. Well, Broderick Thomas wasn't your ordinary college football player and that is why the nickname of "Sandman" stuck. Ask his cousin, who is now being recruited by Nebraska, and he doesn't know the nickname. He just knows that Thomas was a standout DE at Nebraska and that he could be.

If there is a player that was in more desperate need of a profile update than LeVar Brown then I don't know who he is. He was listed at 6-foot-3 and 239, but claims to be closer to 6-foot-5 and 255.

"I'm closer to 6-foot-5 and 255 now," Brown said. "I have 4.9 speed still. Everyone likes me at defensive end at the next level."

As an end, Brown thinks that he is aggressive and that his gets up field quickly. "Last year I finished up with 86 tackles and six sacks. I was also chosen as the newcomer of the year in my district."

The four-star rated DE by is into the double-digits for offers. The list has gotten so long that he can't remember them all anymore.

"I have 13 offers right now. I can think of most of them. I think that they're from Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Colorado, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Arizona, and there are some others."

Despite all of the offers, Brown has yet to really think about paring his list at all. "I haven't really thought about my favorites or my official visits. I will probably think about that during the season."

In a hypothetical, Brown said that he could come up with a quick list of schools that he would set up for official visits today. Those will wait and so will those schools until he makes his decision.

"If I had to choose today on my official visits it would be LSU, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas A&M and Kansas State. I don't think that I will have my decision made until signing day."

One thing that might help Brown through creating his list of favorites is taking some trips to schools. "I think that I might be visiting Texas A&M when I get back from vacation. I am not sure about that though."

One school that Brown doesn't know a lot about, but has ties to is Nebraska. "I don't know too much about Nebraska. I know that my cousin used to go there, Broderick Thomas."

"Broderick's just told me to be patient. He really wants me to look into all of the schools before I make any decision. He said not to let anyone make the decision for me because I have to live with it."

"I have asked him about the team works and how they run their defense. He told me some things about the Blackshirts, but I really don't remember what he said. I spoke to the coach there and he told me about them too. I definitely want to get up to Nebraska for an official."
