The thought of stopping Hampton, Bret Smith and Roshaun Fellows would give any defensive coordinator a sleepless night. No wonder Warren head coach Bo Hembree is smiling.

"Roshaun, Bret and I all work out at the YMCA together," Hampton told HR on Monday. "We're all looking forward to a big season.

Hampton's season was fairly large in 2001, catching 72 passes for 1,769 yards with 20 touchdowns.

"I also had return yardage, but don't remember what it was exactly," he said

The five-foot-eleven, 190-pound Hampton runs a 4.4 forty and has a 210-pound bench. He carries a 2.9 GPA and has scored a 15 on the ACT which he'll retake in October.

"T-Rog" as he is called by teammates, was asked about certain favorites.

"Arkansas, LSU, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Florida State are my top five," he said. Arkansas has already offered.

And is there one favorite of those top five?

"No sir, not really.

You can be sure Hampton will be one of Bret Smith's favorite targets in 2002.
