Cole, a 5-foot-10 and 175 pound receiver, is already holding 13 offers. Cole believes that his 4.4 speed, agility and jumping ability have the teams lining up at his door.
Last year he had 59 catches for 600 yards with nine scores rushing. He also had nine receptions for 289 yards and four scores receiving. It was good enough to get all-district as a running back.
Because of an injury, Cole will be playing a position that he typically isn't being recruited to play in college, quarterback. Out of the 13 offers, Cole has a top five right now. "I like LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, TCU and Nebraska the most right now," Cole said.
LSU: "I like LSU the most mostly because they are in the SEC. I have a lot of family in Louisiana."
Texas A&M: "I like A&M because my cousin went there and told me how they help you out a lot. They're friendly there. I am from Texas and I would stay in Texas."
Arkansas: "I like Arkansas because I like their staff. I see what their players are doing when they leave Arkansas and go to the pros."
TCU: "There is nothing in specific that stands out about TCU, but I know a lot of people that went there. They are talking to me about what is going on there and it's a good school."
Nebraska: "I have always liked Nebraska. Ever since they were running the option. I like the simple fact that I could get a teammate to go there with me in Anthony Blue. They have always been competitive. They are in the Big 12. They are also on the rise and I can help."
Having Blue as a commit to Nebraska could be key. There has been talk about the two going onto college together because Cole isn't as interested following his other two teammates that are Baylor commits. "Anthony and I have talked a lot about going to school together. I would like to go to Nebraska. Right now I really don't know though."
When it comes to picking out a school Cole is considering the other players that are already there at his position. Beyond that though it will be about getting his education and knowing how many players leave that school with a degree.
"I am looking at the depth chart. Other than the depth chart I would like to see the graduation rate. I would like to know how the coaches are when you are there and after you graduate. I would also like to look at what kind of degree I can get there."
