Kerley a commit to TCU, but is he solid?

TCU has a very nice recruiting class going already this year. However, they have lost at least one commitment already and will probably have to continue to keep some others. One of those that will need to be fought for is Jeremy Kerley. A heralded player from Hutto (Texas), his commitment was a bit of a shocker.

Jeremy Kerley is somewhat off of the market you could say. The 5-foot-10 and 175 pound Kerley from Hutto (Texas) made a bit of a surprising commitment this past week or so, but is he solid?

"I committed to TCU last week on Tuesday," Kerley said. "I visited the school and it was a good place to go to. I made my commitment to try and protect myself."

While Kerley didn't get into what "protect myself" actually means, he did elaborate that he might be interested in taking some visits despite his known commitment.

"I might got take some visits. I am really waiting for signing day. I don't want to put anyone out the door. My heart and my mind is set on TCU right now, but we'll see."

While Kerley's commitment to TCU can only be called soft, it does seem that TCU did make an impression on Kerley on his unofficial visit. It was enough for him to not think about some very big offers that he is holding.

"TCU really seemed like the school for me and I know that I shut out a lot of Big 12 offers, but when it comes down to it TCU was showing me the most love. That is where I felt like I was at home."

Kerley admitted there are a couple of teams that could potentially sneak back into the picture. While Kerley did name two teams that he might be interested in visiting it's pretty clear there will be others pushing for a visit as well.s

"I would think that it would probably be Oklahoma or Oklahoma State probably. Those are two that might be able to sneak back in the picture a little bit for me."

While Kerley did not make any mention of Nebraska they were one of the teams that was in contention for his services at one time. Expect Nebraska to continue to give chase to this great athlete.
