California 2007 Preseason Rankings: OLs

Martin Coleman heads the list of top Golden State lineman, followed by the bookend tackles from Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame...

Last year's offensive line haul in California was solid, not spectacular. This year's is very strong, with Southern, Central and Northern California all having an elite prospect (or two). Coleman heads the list and will only get better as he plays the game more. DeMartinis and Carmichael form what may be one of the best tackle duos in the nation. Cheadle is an athletic two-way prospect while Summers-Gavin has offers from all over the country.

1. Martin Coleman, 6-6, 290, Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison
Committed to: USC
Still new to the game, Coleman can already play and his upside is off the charts.

2. Sam DeMartinis, 6-6, 270, Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame
Coming off a dominant, decorated junior season.

3. Charlie Carmichael, 6-5, 295, Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame
Committed to: Oregon
Very well coached and gives Oregon its second stud lineman.

4. Justin Cheadle, 6-5, 257, Bakersfield (Calif.)
Athletic and tough, also plays basketball for the Drillers.

5. Matt Summers-Gavin, 6-4, 275, San Francisco (Calif.) St. Ignatius Prep
Plays aggressively and has a mean streak on the field.

6. Mitchell Schwartz, 6-5, 303, Palisades (Calif.)
Younger brother of Oregon tackle Geoff, Mitchell is making a name of his own.

7. Devan Cunningham, 6-6, 310, Sacramento (Calif.) Grant
Has good size and great strength, and ideal tackle.

8. Adam Tello, 6-4, 290, Norco (Calif.)
Committed to: Colorado
Helped make RB Toby Gerhart the state's all-time leading rusher

9. Hayworth Hicks, 6-4, 324, Palmdale (Calif.)
Likely a guard in college, Hicks and the Northwest schools have mutually high interest.

10. Todd Huber, 6-3, 273, Palos Verdes Estates (Calif.) Peninsula
Could be an impact player on either side of the ball.
