Perry set to visit Nebraska

There are very few players in the nation that are equally dominant at a position on both sides of the football. Chris Perry might be that guy this year though that is the best, two way lineman in the nation. The standout from Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge is a little dinged up right now, but that and his Miami commitment hasn't kept teams from recruiting him.

One of the more popular names in Texas for recruiting is Chris Perry despite him being a Miami commitment. The 6-foot-3 and 315 pound lineman from Keller (Texas) Fossil Ridge is having a good year, but he wishes his was better personally.

"We're doing good," Perry said. "We're 4-1 right now. We lost to Flower Mound. We went up there a little too over confident and lost."

"I have been playing both ways and the season hasn't been going as good as it should. I messed up my ankle in week one and it's been messing up my game since then."

The ankle injury has been a nag to Perry and his senior year. It's been diagnosed as a high ankle sprain and he had some time this week to stay off of it and get in some therapy.

"I think that it's a sprain, but I don't know exactly what's going on. I haven't talked to the trainers. We had an open week this week and they just kept me out to do rehab."

"Nobody has really looked into it. We haven't gotten an XRay or an MRI. It's been bothering me pretty good though. I can't get a real good push or anything. I can't get off the ball. I can't run as fast."

Perry has been a Miami Hurricane commitment since late spring or early summer. However, he has at least one official visit set and he is taking it to just see what it has to offer in comparison to Miami.

"At the end of the season I am going to take an official visit up to Nebraska. I am going up there the week of my last game. I think that it's 11/4. I think that's when it was. I need to talk to Coach John Blake about it again."

"I am still committed to Miami right now. I just want to go up there to see if it's something to take my mind off of Miami. Coach Blake and I have gotten real close."

Coach John Blake and Perry have gotten close through the recruiting process. What Blake has been telling Perry is more than just about football and Nebraska. It's about life.

"We have just been talking about how things will look if I went to Nebraska. What his plans are for me there. He basically wants to mentor me and mold me into a good man when it's all said and done."

"He just wants to make a good impression on my life. He wants to coach me up well and maybe help me get to that next level and to the league."

While the Nebraska visit is set, there is at least one other official that Perry will be taking. Perry was actually in the stands for an unofficial this past weekend for this team. "I am going to go to Oklahoma as well. That will be after the Nebraska visit."
