"We won this past week," Ross said. "We lost the nationally televised game the week before to Loyola. They jipped us man. We're 4-1 now."
"We were up 14-0 at half against Loyola. In the 4th quarter, I went out on defense and they threw for a touchdown. They then got the ball on an onside kick and scored again."
Ross has modest stats for a four-star cornerback, but there is a real big reason for that. "Right now I have two interceptions. Teams aren't just coming to my side of the field."
The Huskers were on the road to scout on their trip to California to play USC. That trip paid off for both Nebraska and Ross. "I have picked up a Nebraska offer recently. That was one of the latest ones. That makes 23 for me."
Ross has only had the offer in hand for about three weeks, but he had already started to set up an official visit. An official visit was set, but the game against Loyola interfered.
"I was supposed to come in for Kansas, but I had a game that night. I am going to set one up for Nebraska again."
In the past couple of years some players have come more to Nebraska for the experience and not because of genuine interest. Ross is coming because he is genuinely interested and he knows some people in Lincoln right now.
"I am really looking forward to seeing Nebraska, of course. It's their environment and I know some people out there."
"I know Ricky Thenarse. I have played against him before. I know Major Culbert too. I played against all of them."
Despite the late offer, and the one official date that has already been missed, Ross is still looking forward to getting out to Nebraska. "Nebraska has me set back up for an official visit on December 8. I think that is the date. I definitely want to get back out there."
