Joiner still on for visit to Nebraska

The 11:00 kickoff time for the Nebraska - Texas game in Lincoln has hurt some of the big recruiting weekend plans for Nebraska. It's just not likely that Nebraska will be able to get many players in that have games the night before and even more unlikely to get in players with games the night before from the west coast. Brandon Joiner has a bye thought the night before and will be in Lincoln.

There is a need for speed rushers in this year's class for Nebraska and Brandon Joiner might very well be at the top of the list. The 6-foot-2 and 220 pound rush end from Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker has plans set for this weekend.

"Yes, I am still headed up to Nebraska this weekend," Joiner said. "I have a bye this weekend and don't have to play the night before."

Not having a game the night before is one of few ways that Nebraska will have to get recruits in on the weekend. The Nebraska - Texas game has been scheduled for an 11:00 AM kickoff on ABC.

Joiner has already taken one official so far to Arizona State. When he gets on an official what is Joiner looking at? "I just want to get onto campus and see what it's like. I want to see how everything goes, basically."

Joiner is just one of many visitors that Nebraska hopes to host this weekend. Stay tuned to Big Red Report for the latest in recruiting news.
