Barfield has one visit left

The entire defensive line at Nebraska graduates this fall. There is immediate needs across the entire line, a line that has proven to be one of the best in college football this year. Nebraska is exploring the junior college route and targeted one of the best in Shukree Barfield.

Shukree Barfield returned from Nebraska a couple of weeks ago and is leaving for his second visit this coming Friday. The 6-foot-4 and 310-pound defensive tackle from Garden City (Kans.) will be going with his teammate on another official visit.

"I am going to South Florida this Friday," Barfield said. "I am going to South Florida this Friday with Kevin Dixon."

Barfield admitted that he has spent some time thinking about Nebraska since coming back from his trip to Lincoln. After this next trip, Barfield is headed home to think and talk about his options with his family.

"I have been thinking about Nebraska since I got back. I am going to go back home, sit down with my family and make the best decision for me."

"I enjoyed myself at Nebraska. They are one of my top teams right now. I pretty much will make my decision by December 20th."

One might think that because Barfield and Dixon will have taken both of their trips together that they are a package deal. That is not necessarily the case, but it could work out that way.

"We talk, we both enjoyed our time up at Nebraska and we are going to go down to South Florida and see what they have to offer for us. We want to see how the program is and if we like it there."

"A lot of people are thinking our decision will be based on eachother, like where he goes I am going to go, but it's not even like that. We just want to see what is comfortable for both of us."

"If it happens that we end up going to the same school, that's great. But that isn't the biggest factor in my decision."
