Dever in Lincoln this weekend

About a month and a half ago, Taylor Dever maybe had a couple of offers. It's amazing what a little visibility can get you. Now well into double-digits in total offers, Dever is on his second official visit. The first one went to Notre Dame and this weekend he is in Lincoln.

The season, for Taylor Dever and his team from Grass Valley (Calif.) Nevada Union, could have been a bit better. The hopes was a state title.

"It was O.K.," Dever said. "We went 7-4 and lost the first round to the team that actually just won the sectionals."

"We were a really young team this year. We were depending on some of these guys to get used to how varsity was, but it really didn't turn out like we wanted it to."

It wasn't long ago when there was some guesses as to what might be wrong with not having any offers. Now Dever is holding over 10 offers.

"I am up to 14 offers right now. UCLA just called and they want me to fax them my transcripts and test scores. It's still pretty nuts."

Dever just returned from a visit to Notre Dame. The Notre Dame offer was one that Dever was highly anticipating and he is off to Nebraska this weekend.

"It was pretty amazing. I have always been a fan, I guess. To get out there and see everything in person was pretty big."

"They just got a brand new athletic facility. I really liked the guys there. I got meet up with some of the offensive lineman, that are all freshman this year, and that was big considering that would be who I would be playing with."

"I go to Nebraska this weekend. There are so many things that I am taking into consideration. I kind of know what to expect, I guess."

After seeing his childhood favorite, Notre Dame, it may be tough to compare schools. However Dever is trying to keep an even keel.

"I want to go out there open-minded. This is a place where I could potentially go. My dad is going with me to Nebraska."

Besides Notre Dame and Nebraska, Dever doesn't have any other official visits set. He is talking about taking all of his visits though.

"I don't have anything else scheduled right now. There is talk about Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, Miami, maybe USC and UCLA if they both come through and offer."
