Dixon, a 6-foot-4 and 275-pound defensive tackle from Garden City (Kans.) Junior College, says that things are still a little busy with recruiting and he is looking forward to some time off from school.
"Things are going good," Dixon said. "It's good to be home. I don't have to go back to Coffeyville until January 8."
"Recruiting is still going on for me. It's been busy. I went to South Florida since going to Nebraska."
"It was fun. I had a good time. I hung out with some of the guys and met some of the coaches."
Dixon was trying to compare the trip to South Florida with the trip to Lincoln, but there was a huge difference between the circumstances of the two.
"I had fun on both trips, but I went to a game at Nebraska. It's hard to compare the two because of that."
"It's a little bit of a different environment in Lincoln. They have a lot of support there."
Dixon was a commitment to South Florida when he took the trip to Lincoln. However, since the trip there and to South Florida, things need to be sorted out still with more visits.
"Yes sir, I really don't know where I am at with it. It's a confusing time and I am still going to take some visits."
"I am going to go to Louisville on January 12. I am not sure where else I will go. I am sure that some things will pop up when I get back to school."
One of the best opportunities for Dixon may be that he ends up playing his last two years with Barfield in Lincoln. He admitted that was a good scenario.
"That's a good possibility. That's my buddy and we were together for three years. We both had a good time on our visit to Lincoln."
Some are concerned that Dixon might lose interest in Nebraska with the departure of John Blake. However, that wasn't Dixon's recruiting contact with Nebraska.
"Coach Wyatt has a very good background and was with good programs like being at Alabama. He really impressed me. We spoke for a long time. We had a really good conversation."
