Sullivan finally sees Lincoln

After many tries to set up an official visit to Lincoln, Shawn Sullivan finally got into see Lincoln. It was a long time coming for Sullivan who committed to Nebraska sight un-seen in Lincoln. Coming from around the Houston, Texas area, it had to be interesting to go from a very mild climate to a cold climate. There was also a chance to see snow fall in Lincoln this weekend.

Neither the snow or the cold could change Shawn Sullivan and his commitment to Nebraska. The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Sullivan had a great visit to Lincoln.

"It went great," Sullivan said. "I really liked the facilities and being around the coaches a lot."

This was Sullivan's first chance to really see Nebraska. He has been told a lot, especially about the facilities, and he had to see them to believe it.

"I haven't been there before. This was my first time. After being told about the facilities, I didn't think that they would be like that."

There was about a 25 degree difference between Brenham (Texas) and Lincoln, but it didn't phase Sullivan. He liked it and took an opportunity to do something he hadn't before.

"It was snowing pretty much the whole time I was there. It didn't bother me at all. I liked it. We walked to the movies and threw a couple of snow balls at eachother."

"Lionel Breaux, Jason Peters and I walked to the movies along with Menelik Holt. As we walked to the movies people recognized us and knew who we were."

Sullivan will be back up to Lincoln again, for good, in just five short months. He will enroll this summer and take part in summer conditioning.

"I am going to be heading up to Lincoln in June. That is when I will start my summer school and summer conditioning."

Before Sullivan enrolls, he will try and make it back to see his team in the spring game. It's not for sure yet, but Sullivan would like to get back up for it.

"I am also going to try and make it back up there for the spring game in April. I am planning on it."

All of the official visitors were together all weekend. Sullivan thought that the weekend went as well for the other recruits as it did for him.

"I think that it went great with them. It was great to talk to Coach Bill Callahan about the facilities and everything in Lincoln. Both of them didn't commit. We all had a good time, but no one committed."
