Nebraska, getting Ready

As the game against the Aggies approaches, final preparations are made. Tonight, it was the obligatory walk-through as Huskers iron out details about the game, refresh themselves about their assignments and hone just a few of the things that will be key for the Huskers to take a victory home tomorrow night. Nebraska is heavily favored against Utah State, but the game will only be part of the story. This game will mark the 250th home sellout in a row. A continuing NCAA record.

Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Dahrran Diedrick isn't wearing his usual number right now, but expect him to have the right number come tomorrow night. Also, expect him and the offensive line to have the number of a Utah State defense that allowed almost 300 yards on the ground to Utah last week.
Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Demorrio Williams and Chad Kelsay stretch out in preparation for tomorrow's game. Either one has to be licking their chops, but Kelsay must be especially happy as the entire right side of the offensive line they will be facing tomorrow night has a combined 3 starts under their belt.
Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Frank Solich reviews the troops so to speak during NU's walkthrough before NU plays Utah State tomorrow night. Solich remarked about the heat being an issue, but was confident that this wasn't something that they had seen before. Also, any remarks about Collins were quickly diverted as the staff obviously wants as few distractions as possible before NU's last home game before traveling to Happy Valley to play Penn State.
Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Prior to the official walk-through, Jake Andersen and a few of the other offensive linemen played around, kicking balls through the up rights. Well, they were trying anyway. Though a few of the kicks did indeed go through and some even impressively, I would say that Josh Brown probably isn't feeling the heat.
Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Jeff Jamrog goes over some special teams' assignments in preparations for tomorrow's game against the Aggies. Jamrog's special teams' unit has been the star for NU thus far this year. With two punt blocks, one taken back for a touchdown and two punt returns for touchdowns through two games, NU's special teams have proven to be truly special indeed.
Benard Thomas2.jpg - 39368 Bytes Nebraska's getting ready to defend their home turf yet again. Sporting the longest home winning streak in division 1-A not to mention that this game will be the 250th consecutive home sellout for the Huskers football team, tomorrow night may not turn out to be special as far as the game goes, but it will be something for fans to tell their kids.
