Hines holding Nebraska offer

Everyone is looking for speed, size and a playmaker at the receiver position. One of the best in the nation is in North Texas and had about half of his catches go of touchdowns while averaging well over 20 yards per reception. He is already holding close to 20 offers and the question isn't will he get more, but how many more?

If you want a playmaker at the receiver position then look no further then Omarius Hines. The 6-foot-1 and 183-pound receiver from Corsicana (Texas) has seen little down time since the end of football.

"After football season I went right into football," Hines said. "After basketball season I was in my only off-season. I wasn lifting and working out. Now I am in track."

"I have been catching and throwing in the off-season as well as working out. I was trying to improve my blocking. That's about it."

Hines has explosion and speed, as an athlete. He is taking part in a track and two field events this year. He hasn't had a chance to run or jump yet because he started so late.

"I am doing the long jump, the high jump and the 100m. I haven't had a chance to run it yet because I got into track late. My best time every is about a 10.9 or a 10.8."

The constant for Hines is recruiting. He has had it for a while now and is well into double-digits for his total offers. He has pulled down some very nice offers including one from the reigning national champions.

"Recruiting is going good. I have been very busy with it. I really couldn't tell you how many offers I have. My mom has it written down somewhere, but I can't find it."

"I would say that it's close to 20. Pretty much all of the Big 12, except for Texas, has offered me. I also have an offer from Florida and some others."

Hines says that there are a few key things about him that make him special at the wide receiver position. "I would say my receiving ability, my speed, my route running and my aggressiveness."

Last year Hines had a great season and was a first team all-district and first team all-state pick. "I had 52 catches for 1,263 yards and 23 touchdowns."

Hines has already taken one trip and it took him by surprise. He didn't imagine that the school would be that big.

"I went to the Texas Tech junior day. It was fun, but it was a long trip. It's real big. I just thought that the whole school was big. It's bigger then what I imagined."

When Hines makes his decision he will be looking for a team that will get him the ball. He will also be looking for a school that can win the national championship.

"I am looking for a team that will pass the ball and for a team that is in a position to play for a national championship. Distance isn't a big deal."

The Huskers have ponied up an offer to Hines. Off of the top of his head, Hines didn't know when Nebraska offered, but he did talk to a coach from there. Beyond that, there wasn't much that he could say about the school.

"I really don't know when Nebraska offered me. It's been a little while. I have spoke to Coach Randy Jordan. He's nice and cool to talk to."

"I might considering visiting there. I really don't know anything about Nebraska. I really haven't got a chance to look into them or talk to them again. I need to look into it more."
