Guyton enjoys visit to Nebraska

There were a lot of visitors in the stands this past Saturday in Lincoln for the annual Red-White game. One of the visitors that traveled the furthest is Trevor Guyton. Guyton came to Nebraska without an offer, but did receive some encouraging news about potentially getting one.

One of the more heralded, uncommitted players in the stands in Lincoln this past weekend was Trevor Guyton. Guyton, a standout two-way lineman from Redmond (Wash.) was actually still in Lincoln tonight.

"Yeah, I was in Lincoln for the spring game yesterday," Guyton said. "I am actually still here because my flight got all messed up."

Travel issues aside, Guyton did enjoy his visit to Nebraska. He has been in town now since this past Friday and enjoyed the facilities, game and time with the coaches.

"The visit was real good. We got here about 11:00 on Friday and came over the stadium about 8:30 on Saturday morning for a special tour."

"The facilities were just ridiculous. The tour took me through the locker room, weight room and the sports medicine offices."

"I got a chance to meet all of the coaches. I had a couple of nice, one on one talks with defensive line coach, Buddy Wyatt."

Nebraska is recruiting Guyton to play defensive line, but Guyton is a standout on both offense and defense. He has a preference as to which side of the ball he would like to play.

"Nebraska likes me as a defensive tackle. Washington likes me on offensive line, but I think that they would really like me on defensive line. I prefer to play defense."

Guyton came to Lincoln without an offer from Nebraska, but was holding offers from Washington and Washington State. Guyton and Nebraska discussed the offer topic quite a bit.

"We did talk about an offer. Nebraska is really interested in me, but they told me that they needed some time to evaluate my film. They told me it might only take a week or two. I feel good about it."

Guyton has had a chance to visit both of the in-state schools in Washington and had a chance to compare the three. Guyton was very impressed with what he saw in Lincoln.

"Nebraska was a lot bigger then what I thought it would be. Their facilities are all pretty new. Nebraska is pretty much the best campus that I have seen."
