Gabbert makes his decision

All of the talk can finally subside. The decision has been made by Blaine Gabbert as to who and where he will be attending college. This big-framed, strong-armed quarterback with amazing feet and speed has made his decision. It came in a text message tonight to

In a text message from Blaine Gabbert tonight, Big Red Report learned his college destination. The 6-foot-4 and 225-pound quarterback from Ballwin (Mo.) Parkway West will be staying in the Big 12.

The text message from Gabbert simply stated:

"I'm committed to Nebraska."

The Husker nation has picked up a big one in their seventh, known verbal. As a junior, Gabbert passed for 1,523 yards and 20 touchdowns (seven interceptions) and added an additional 458 yards and nine more scores on the ground to help lead his team to an 8-2 record and a trip to the playoffs.

Gabbert: "I have a strong and accurate arm. I have great speed and good escapability. I'm really aggressive and never second guess myself. I want to keep improving in everything and become a better overall quarterback. I'd like to read the plays better and learn to throw into all types of different coverages."

No doubt this is a huge pickup for Nebraska. Coach Shawn Watson led the recruiting efforts for Nebraska with Gabbert.
