Huskers offer TE/DE from California

Versatility is a big thing. Especially when that means that you can play more than one position. More than that, on both sides of the football. A lot of teams were in to see one of the top, two way players in the state of California during the evaluation period. He is sitting some offers now and has some trips coming up.

Anthony Miller has one day of school left and has plans set already for summer. The 6-foot-3 and 250-pound tight end/linebacker from San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty has a couple of camps planned.

"Tomorrow is our last day," Miller said. "I have some summer plans. I will be making it to the Cal and USC camps."

On top of camps to USC and Cal, Miller just got back from the Nike combine a couple of weeks ago. He said that he did really well while at the combine.

"I just got back from the Nike combine a couple of weeks ago. I think that I did pretty good. I was 6-foot-3 and 250-pounds."

Spring practices went well for Miller and Archbishop Mitty. Miller saw a lot of schools stop by to take a look at him.

"A lot of coaches came out to see me during the evaluation period. Oregon, Cal, Nebraska, USC, Oregon State and Utah are just a few."

Miller is up to five offers now. Most are from PAC 10 or west coast teams, except for one. Does that offer from a far away school make a difference?

"I am up to five offers. I have offers from Cal, Oregon, Arizona State, San Jose State and Nebraska."

"I don't think much different of the Nebraska offer in comparison to other schools. It's further away, but that doesn't matter."

Miller says that he is looking at the football program and the academic environment at a school before making a decision. "I am looking at the football program and the school itself."

Block, catch and run is what Miller says that he can do from the tight end position. "I block well, I am physical, I have good hands and I run good routes."

Last year, Miller was solid on both sides of the football. He earned honors on both sides of the football. "I had 12 catches for 106 yards and one touchdown. I got all-league for linebacker and honorable mention for tight end."

"I am getting recruited to play both positions in college. I really haven't decided which I would rather play in college. It doesn't really matter."

While Miller is sitting on five offers and has some camps planned he maintains that he is wide open right now. "I am still wide open. I haven't eliminated anyone."
