Both the Huskers and Nittany Lions finished the 2006 season in the top-five nationally, as the two teams combined for a 65-4 record a year ago. The Nittany Lions won the Big Ten title in 2006 and return a trio of All-Americans in outside hitters Nicole Fawcett and Megan Hodge and middle blocker Christa Harmotto. The Huskers went 34-1 en route to the school's third NCAA title and return five AVCA All-Americans, including Honda-Broderick Cup winner Sarah Pavan and 2005 AVCA National Player of the Year Christina Houghtelling.

It is the third match that the Huskers will play at Qwest Center Omaha this season, as Nebraska will also participate in the AVCA Showcase on Aug. 24-25. Tickets for the AVCA Showcase are also on sale through Ticketmaster and on Ticketmaster.com.
