Huskers add pass rushing DE

If there has been a void for the Nebraska recruiting classes the past couple of years, it might be at the open end position. This year, getting at least one open end that can just be turned loose to sack the quarterback was a must for the Nebraska coaching staff. Today, Nebraska nabbed that type of "pin your ears back and sack the quarterback" defensive end.

Josh Williams from Denton (Texas) Ryan left to see Lincoln, Nebr. yesterday morning. Today, was his unofficial visit to Lincoln. Apparently things went well.

Communicating via text message, Josh Wiliams sent Big Red Report and earlier text message stating that the trip was going great.

Merely hours later, Williams sent another text message indicating that he had committed to the Nebraska coaching staff. The text simply read, "I am in the family."

Nebraska addresses a huge need with the commitment of Josh Williams to the 2007-08 recruiting class. Williams is slated to play the open end position where there is an immediate need.

Williams, a 6-foot-4 and 220-pound defensive end had 68 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, eight quarterback pressures, six sacks, and six deflected passes last year. Williams earned all-district and all-area honors lass year as a junior.

Williams will be calling Big Red Report later to talk about his commitment. There will also be a video interview right here later tonight/tomorrow talking to the latest Husker commit.
