Almost Perfect

John Lejiste, a 6-foot, 190-pound, safety, from Del Ray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic, made his first official visit this past weekend at Wisconsin. Lejiste was hosted by wide receiver Nick Toon and defensive back Aaron Henry. On a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the absolute best, Lejiste gave his visit a 9.

"I had a great time up at Wisconsin," John Lejiste told Badger Nation. "I got up there on Friday and took a tour of the campus and facilities during the day and on Friday night, I was shown some of the hotspots around Madison.

"On Saturday, I watched the team do their pre-game and I saw how the players prepared for the game. The atmosphere in the stadium was wonderful. I liked the fan support a lot. After the game, I hung out with Aaron Henry and he was really cool.

"Aaron (Henry) told me what it's been like for him in making the transition not only from high school to college but from Florida to Wisconsin. Having guys like Aaron to talk to was a big plus for me."

We asked Lejiste if he gave the Badgers his verbal commitment.

"I didn't commit," he said. "Coach Bielema didn't pressure me to commit and he told me to go through the process if that's what I needed to do. He wanted me to make sure that Wisconsin was the place for me.

"I'm still pretty much open. If I had to name favorites right now, I'd say Wisconsin, Nebraska, Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia, South Florida and Central Florida are my top schools but I'm not calling any schools right now and telling them that they are out of it."

Lejiste told Badger Nation that Atlantic is currently 1-1 on the season. Jon has 25 tackles, five pass break-ups and a caused fumble in two games.
