A big one is out for Williams

One of the more, increasingly popular names of all the prospects in Texas has been Josh Williams. Since things have changed in the coaching positions at Nebraska, Williams has started to find a plan "B", but staying a Nebraska commitment. The Huskers have fought back, but a big offer came from Texas, but is he still considering the Longhorns?

Nebraska commitment, Josh Williams, got a chance to meet with his recruiting coach earlier in the week. The 6-foot-4 and 220-pound defensive end still hadn't spoken with the head coach yet.

"I haven't talked to Bo Pelini, yet," Williams said. "Coach Ted Gilmore came down the other day and talked to me. He said that him and Bo might come down next week."

On Thursday night, Williams got the call that he was looking for. Bo Pelini called Williams to talk to him about how he sees Williams as a player.

"He got me pretty fired up. He told me he wants to get that Blackshirt defense back at Nebraska and how he could see me fitting in his defense. It sounded really good."

This past week Williams also trimmed his list. It's not that big of a deal, as players usually trim lists, but this was a surprising team to cut.

"I dropped Texas. I just knew that Texas wasn't the place for me and it wasn't where I wanted to go. Although I have eliminated them, they haven't backed off."

Denton (Texas) Ryan is typically a school where players with Texas offers go to Texas. Williams didn't have a one particular reason why he eliminated Texas other than he wanted to do his own thing.

"I want to get out and kind of do my own thing. I want to try and make a name for myself. I just felt like it wasn't for me is all."

Williams says that he is still committed. There are two trips coming up and one very important conversation before he says he knows exactly what he is going to do.

"I would say that I am still committed to Nebraska, but that I am still looking around. I am going to take my last two visits."

"I want to take those last two trips, meet with coach Bo Pelini and then I will know from there what I am going to do."

"I am going to Missouri this weekend. I then might go to Colorado next weekend. I don't know. They just offered me the other day."
