Huskers offer pair at Texas High School

People have wondered how Nebraska would respond. It didn't seem possible that Nebraska would sit back, let others take their punches when they were down and then not come out swinging. What Nebraska has apparently done has been to start scouring the recruiting path again and has come up with a pair of excellent players who they offered last night.

It might be a dead period and Nebraska's head coach, Bo Pelini, is in Baton Rouge getting ready for the national championship game as the defensive coordinator at LSU, but Nebraska is still out recruiting. A pair from Klein (Texas) picked up verbal offers last night with the written offers to follow.

"Yes sir, Nebraska offered last night and it felt real good," Brian Moore said. "They used to be one of my favorite teams back in middle school. I have just followed them growing up."

Nebraska not only offered Moore, but they offered Moore's partner in crime one the defensive side of the football, John Youboty. "He got an offer too. He's my buddy, my teammate."

Moore is technically listed as a Tulsa commit, Youboty isn't committed anywhere, but Moore says that the verbal is soft and that Nebraska will get a look. "I would list it as a soft verbal. I am going to look at some other schools like Nebraska and maybe Michigan State."

Nebraska is currently trying to get the pair of defensive standouts from Klein to trip to Nebraska together in January. "John and I talked about that today. He has an official that first weekend in January, so it will probably be January 11."

"I am definitely going to take a trip up there. It will be in early January. I am ready for that. I will set that up with Nebraska and Coach Shawn Watson the next time we talk."

While Nebraska's head coach prepares for the national title game, not having spoke to Moore or Youboty, his reputation precedes him with Moore. "I am a big fan of Coach Bo Pelini."

"When Nebraska really started recruiting me, that was the main thing to me. Everyone knows Bo Pelini. It's really excited to be considered by him to play on his defense."

Moore, on paper, looks like a real fit for Nebraska and Bo Pelini. As a senior, Moore led the team in tackles with 120, had 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one sack.
