Henry set to visit

The road wasn't supposed to be as long as it's been from Omaha (Nebr.) Burke to Lincoln as it's been for Ricky Henry. Out of high school, Henry missed qualifying with his 2006 class and was placed at Wahpeton (N.D.) North Dakota State College Of Science. It sounds like Henry though is ready to start making the turn back to Lincoln.

Ricky Henry was technically the first commit of the 2006 class for Nebraska. The 6-foot-4 and 300-pound Henry could have technically been considered the first commit of the 2008 class as well.

It's always been a bit of a benchmark that if Henry was set to take a Nebraska visit in January that he should be considered part of the class. Henry says to chalk him up.

"I am set to take a January visit," Henry said. "I am going to Lincoln on January 25th for my official visit."

Henry says that no matter what the changes were in Lincoln that he was going to make it back. There was just the matter of getting the coursework done.

"I am going to Nebraska, 100%. I have always wanted to get back to Nebraska. It was just a matter of getting my academics in order."

Henry said that the season for Wahpeton (N.D.) North Dakota State College Of Science could have gone a little better. Personally, Henry had a solid season.

"We only won two games. I thought I did good. I was playing guard and received all-region honors. I graded out around 80 or 90%."

Henry is actually getting ready to return to North Dakota and said that the course load that he has in the spring isn't that big of a deal. Henry said he will be done in the spring.

"I am back at home packing up getting ready to leave tomorrow. I am done in May. I have 14 credit hours left to take."

Henry, who was a standout two-way lineman at Omaha (Nebr.) Burke in high school, but played offensive line in junior college, said that Nebraska is projecting him to play offensive line in Lincoln.
