Visit goes well for Texas WR

Nebraska fans have known about Lester Ward for a while. Ward, from Brenham (Texas), hails from the same high school as current Nebraska player Shawn Sullivan. A Baylor commitment, adding Ward's name to the list of Nebraska visitors was a welcome sight considering Nebraska's need at the position. Did Nebraska make an impression on this talented athlete from Texas?

Lester Ward has been difficult to track down for an interview. Brenham (Texas) Head Coach, Glen West, has been very accommodating with Big Red Report in getting the latest information on Ward.

Coach West confirmed to Big Red Report a week or so ago that Ward was heading to Lincoln to take an official visit. Coach West weighed in again on what he knew about Ward's visit to Nebraska.

"I know that he really enjoyed it," Coach West said. "It was a great visit for him, really enjoyed it. We talked about the visit at length yesterday."

Ward has held a Nebraska offer for some time now. However, Ward felt compelled to pull the trigger on a commitment to Baylor back in August. Has the visit to Nebraska changed Ward's commitment status?

"I really don't know about that. You will need to talk to Lester personally to see about that. I know that he is extremely interested in Nebraska."

Coach West informed Big Red Report that Ward might be available for a personal interview later this afternoon. Ward is listed in the Scout.com and SuperPrep Texas Hot 100 and is listed as a two-star running back prospect, but will more than likely play wide receiver in college.
