Nebraska has hit Texas hard in recent weeks and this weekend will be no different. This weekend, Nebraska will bring in Courtney and Steve Osborne from Garland (Texas) South after having offered only a couple of weeks ago. Again, it seems that the new blood in the assistant coaches at Nebraska is paying off.
On a hunch, Big Red Report
ran a report on Steven Osborne
and his twin brother, Courtney Osborne
, back in December. As it turns out, Nebraska
and others have recognized the abilities of these two players and now the twin brothers will be visiting Lincoln this weekend.
"Yes, they will be visiting Nebraska this weekend," South Garland Head Coach Mike Moss said.
The interest in Nebraska is fairly new, but it's with an old face. The turnover in the staff has brought in Tim Beck who recruited north Texas for Kansas.
"Nebraska's interest is new, but with the turnover that they had, Tim Beck getting hired at Nebraska, and Kansas had offered Steven first and then Courtney later. Coach Beck knew about Steven and Courtney for a while.
"Coach Beck got the film for both Steven and Courtney, showed it to coach Bo Pelini and Pelini loved the film on the Osborne's. Nebraska offered both Steven and Courtney."
Coach Moss believes that Nebraska is looking at Steven as a wide receiver and is looking at Courtney as an ATH that could play on either side of the ball. Steven had 37 catches for 585 yards and 10 touchdowns last year.
