Running back talks recruiting

Strength of a horse, speed of a gazelle and a sick yards per carry average. That's just the start of the Melvin Cole resume', but for teams needing another possible gamebreaker at I-back, that's a heck of a start.

Melvin Cole (Memphis, TN (Briarcrest Christian) (RB-5'10-201-4.36/40-350/bench-550/squat) Having talked to Melvin nearly three weeks ago some things have now changed. An offer is probably the biggest change "Tennessee Tech has offered me, that's the only one I have right now." And more are sure to come.

Melvin who averaged nearly 10 yards a carry his junior year, is not far off that pace in his senior campaign "I have 850 yards on 95 carries and 9 TD's so far this year" That comes out to roughly 8.9 yards every time Melvin touches that ball.

His Briarcrest high school team currently sits at 8-2 and just earned a number one position going into the state tournament. So for now any officials will take a back seat until football season is complete, however Melvin seemed to think both Miss St., and Middle Tennessee would both get a visit when the time does arrive.

Most schools are looking at Melvin as a RB, but schools such as Florida have asked Melvin if he would be interested in playing safety. But, all those decisions will have to wait.
