Scouting Report: John Garrison

Its' been a tough season for the once mighty Nebraska Cornhuskers. Part of the reason for their failures can be traced to the offensive line, a once quality unit that put prospects into the draft with regularity every April. That may not be the situation next year as the only player drafted up front could be selected in the late rounds based on his long-snapping skills. *Photo Courtesy of Getty Images*

Full Name:  John Garrison  School:  Nebraska

Ht:  6-3  Wt:  285  40:  5.21

Year  4Sr  Number:  52

Stats/ Bio:

2001: Started every game at center and also snapped for every special teams unit.

2000: Played in every game as a backup center, guard and NU's long snapper.

Scouting Report:

The Good:  Hard working lineman whose best opportunity may be as a long snapper.  Quick off the snap, keeps his feet moving and effective in space.  Stays square and fights hard with his hands.

The Bad: Bends at the waist, lacks the strong base and does not anchor or adjust the way you'd think a smaller lineman could.

The Skinny:  Deep snapping abilities could get him drafted in the late rounds.
