Two offers for Williams

What Yahshua Williams has on the football field is what college coaches are looking for. Up to now, Williams has played cornerback. As a senior, Williams is expected to move over to the safety position. He has the size and will have the cover abilities that you are looking for in a centerfielder. Those were recognized early by a pair of teams this week.

Yahshua Williams had a big day on Tuesday. The potential Texas Hot 100 player, the 6-foot-3 and 185-pound Williams, picked up his first offers.

"I got two offers," Williams said. "It happened on Tuesday. I word about both of the offers at the same time.

"Kansas came by the school today (Wednesday) for practice. I got a chance to see them. I got an offer from Arizona as well."

Williams, a cornerback previously at Denton (Texas) Ryan, will make the move over to safety. He is keeping the offers in perspective and treating them like the tip of an offer iceberg.

"I am ecstatic. I am trying to keep my head right, not get too caught up about it, because I have a year left. I can get better.

"If the year goes well and I get better I want more people to offer, to know that I am doing good. I just want more."

Here are Williams' comments on the offers:

KANSAS: "The Kansas offer was cool because they had a good season last year."

ARIZONA: "The Arizona offer was good because they have a good defense."

Williams was expected to make the trip up to Lincoln this past weekend, but had some logistical issues. Nebraska is a team that he is interested in and they should be by his school in the coming weeks.

"I didn't get a chance to go to the Nebraska spring game like I wanted. I have my eye on them. We haven't communicated a lot. I am hoping to see them in a week or two."
