Today was the usual padded practice that went as expected. "Good work day today as far as practiced was concerned." Solich stated. "They were a little tired, but the good part about it was that they pushed their way through it."
"Mentally, it's that kind of situation that where you get wore down, you still have to mentally operate at top efficiency and I think they did a good job of that today."
As stated in the press conference today, Chad Sievers was lost for the season from a knee injury that will require surgery. He will go on the injured list and Steve Safranek will take his place, backing up Barrett Ruud.
The only other changes on the depth chart were that of Trevor Johnson regaining the starting nod over Demoine Adams and the swapping of starting spots on the depth chart between T.J. Hollowell and Demarrio Williams. Coach Solich stated that it was a change, but not necessarily because T.J. had out performed Williams. "They will both see a lot of action as was the case when Demarrio was listed number one." Solich stated. "T.J. has played very well and Demarrio has come through a few games where he has been a little banged up. Demarrio has played well , but we have chosen T.J. to be there right now."
Chris Kelsay did practice today with the other units, but again, no comments were made as to his playing status this weekend or any other.
Gameday forecast calls for partly cloudy weather and highs in the upper 40s.
