Bell and his team mate, Abrecus Martinez, are a deadly duo on the football field. Martinez added 50 receptions last year for 853 yards and another 12 touchdowns making plays look easy from his wide receiver position.
The two of them are holding some mutual offers. One of those teams that has offered both Bell and Martinez is Nebraska. The Huskers look poised to host the two of them later this month.
"Yes sir," Bell said. "We are supposed to be making it up there. We will be going up there for just one day later this month. I am not sure on the exact date."
The two Rayville standouts will be making the trip to Nebraska along with their coach from Rayville, Head Coach Bo Barton, to see Lincoln. Bell is looking at seeing some specific things in Lincoln.
"Well, I want to see the football environment that they have there in Lincoln. I also want to see the facilities and get to meet the coaches there. It is a long ways away, but distance isn't a problem with me."
Bell and Martinez have one thing going for them; there will be a familiar face in Lincoln to greet them. Coach John Papuchis was at LSU last year and that is where Bell and Martinez became familiar with him.
"Coach J.P. is really nice. I actually got to know him while he was down at LSU last year. Coach J.P. has told me that it's real nice there in Lincoln and that I could do very well up there as a Husker."
Bell admits that he doesn't know a lot about Nebraska, but it's clear by his willingness to travel that he is willing to learn. Having his team mate, his coach and a coach at Nebraska that he knows will help as well.
